One of the most exciting parts of fashion is spotting new or potential trends and watching them grow into full blown style moments! Following trends can be a great starting point when designing and planning new sewing projects.
We have curated a list of some of Maeve Design Studio's favourite current and future trends, including some pieces from old classic brands as well as some new ones-to-watch.
1. Lilac Loving
Once the colour of bridesmaid horror stories, lilac is finally cool again! Full lilac outfits have been the look this summer so why should your lingerie be any different? For cute basics The Nude Label is the place to go, with soft bralettes and multi knicker shapes. For a more luxury look, Le Petit Trou offer a stunning polka dot, frilled number; the perfect lilac set.
2. Quirky and Kitch Embroidery
This trend has been floating around for a while, but right now we are seeing some stunning (and unusual!) embroidery. A personal favourite is Fleur du Mal's banana set; this set perfectly embodies the brand's sexy and subversive style. But, leading the way with some of the most beautiful and fun embroidery designs is Love and Swans. Their designs range from the etherial 'Cygnus' set to the quirky 'Cherub' set pictured below.
3. Hardware Baby
Chains, pearls, buckles and clips; exaggerated hardware is everywhere. The original lover of big hardware, Bordelle, are still at it, this time with large suspender clips and dungaree style buckles. This is a trend you can have fun with and lets you creates a look that is both elegant and seductive.
What do you think of these trends? Do you plan on wearing any of them, or have you got a different trend in mind? We are constantly watching for new trends and will keep you updated with our favourites!
